Sharing with you on this beautiful sunny Earth day our nature
inspired tie dyes in earth tones. I can't help but be inspired by the sky, ground and the glorious green 🌱 vegetation that will come to life this spring.

This got me super excited to make some dirt, water and green shades of tye dye items with an earthy incline tie dye method of ice dying. Trying to symbolize the plants natural way of growth with a green thumb style vibe.

Moon Phase Dyes - February 2019

Tie Dye Moon Phase Banners on Etsy

Here are some outcomes of our February New Moon Dyeing session!

Crafted up these "Moon Phase" banners during the new moon and I'm diggin' the way they turned out even though I could use some improvement. Plan on hemming them an adding loops in the top corners to hang with my next batch but these first four got a quick serge to the edges to prevent fraying. ✨

Watermelon Inspired Tie Dye Design

A follower on Instagram had asked me to whip up a watermelon tapestry an I just loved the idea! Didn't want to make a literal watermelon shape so we brainstormed to come up with this simple and absolutely beautiful watermelon inspired design.

Starting out the creation is a hand tied and dyed sun mandala that transforms into a lotus blossom which is the pink flesh of the melon. The rest of the tap was tied in a spiderweb and dyed green to portray the watermelon rind. I was a bit nervous when I added the black on top of the lotus blossom for it was too wet and I thought it would take away my light pink color but luckily it turned out fantastic! I will be making more to list in my Etsy tie dye shop.

New Moon Dyeing - February 2019

For the February New Moon I've decided to try my hand at a couple "Moon Phase" and "Triple Moon" mini taps plus get a few socks tied and dyed to finally get more items in my almost empty, lil' Etsy shop. Sexy thigh highs for all the funky festival goers, hoopers, ravers and more plus matching cotton adult socks for everybody else.

Who doesn't like tie dye socks?

These are the three tapestry choices we whipped up for the winner

of Decembers Giveaway. These 3 designs are some of our favorites

and we'll be doing more in all sorts of colors this year.

The "Moon Ripple" kids tees were a little overpowered by the turquoise

cast off but still look cute and will make an OOAK gifts. Things don't always work out with tie dyeing but the experimenting is always a blast!

Alien Cane - Polymer Clay Crafts

Being stuck in the house during the freezing tundra of our North Dakota winter environment had us watching way too many polymer clay crafting videos these last few weeks and of course we had the urge to go out and buy some clay to play with...so we did. This is what happened, now life will never be the same again.

Shout out to MO clays Youtube channel, totally hooked us and inspired the motivation to do our first Alien cane. Which turned out pretty freakin stellar if you ask us!

This cane was actually made with some super old Craftsmart clay I got at Michaels at least 4 years ago when I worked there. Since this was our first time playing with clay we decided to see if we could get the old stuff to work before we broke open the huge sampler pack of Primo Clay we just got. It was hard AF and almost got chucked in the trash honestly. Our hands became very sore after trying to roll out only two packs of old clay so we gave up, got a dope clay roller and smashed the clay up enough to revive it. Then used it to create smaller canes to put together to form this alien cane an a handful of other fun beads! We ran out of black to surround the alien with so thats why it ends up looking like Slimer the ghost. Doh.


All this was from 5 packs of clay, whaaa?!

Baked at 245°F for 15 mins. on tshirt/fabric

The square ones with added gray around are my fave!

We still have a shit ton of left overs & canes from the craftsmart clay we plan on chopping up and making Heishi Beads with. They are so cool and I'm excited to make some pendants and earrings with the totally psychedelic creations. So far we've crafted up a few and we love the way the colors meld with one another making an ooak blotter totem type of effect, almost like they way the dye bonds with the fabric in tie dyeing.

New Moon Dyeing - January 2019

⭐🌕🌖🌗🌘🌑🌒🌓🌔🌕⭐

The winner of our last giveaway chose turquoise and purple colors

to have a custom tie dye tapestry made for them. I decided to dye up

a whole batch of other goodies including a few old school "Moon Ripple" design

kids tees in those colors as well! Haven't made these in a while so I hope they

turn out for they're gifts to be sent to our groovy buds wee ones.

It all starts here 💧

Two gallons of soda ash soak was made for this small batch, while a lil' Moon blessing was cast among the water before adding the items to soak. 🌛🌝🌜


Tie Dyers helpers

When I bottle and dropper dye goods I like to use lil' plastic cups with droppers in them, inside a shoe box by my dying totes. ✨ It works out pretty slick.
