Playing with tie dye scraps has always been a fun thing for me to do. Once I got a serger all kinds of small creations happened! This is the first trial of a current & quick lil' project I'm still perfecting.

These upcycled & repurposed cloth wipes have helped me around the house with no waste provided from them. My toddlers even love using them to clean up after meals and snacks. They've learned so much independence while having a blast!

A few sets of assorted designs & styles are and more will be listed in small trial packs for now. I'm working on designing them in a more durable way such as being top stitched, more absorbant and in larger bundles next year.

So much scraps, so little time to craft!

Ice Dyeing Experiments - Batch #2

Working from the high of our last ice dyeing outcome Batch #1 and my expectations are more of a "Deep Sea Mermaid" type of vibe. 

I had hand tied up a bunch of kids stuff, tanks for me an a few table runners & wall hangings to do these ice dyeing batch experiments throughout the month of December. This way if the projects turned out like shit we'd just have shit tie dyes to wear at home lol. Newbie here at Ice Dyeing so this is working out wonderfully and the dyes are so far too, hopefully I can keep it up.

Anyway back to the dyeing...

Colors used:

Needless to say I was really excited to rinse these interesting creations an after 
I did I was well, not expecting what it turned out to be. Who the heck would 
actually know whats gonna happen right?! That's the addicting part of any kind 
of fabric dyeing to me! 🎨 You can do the same design and use the same 
colors but never get the same results.

To tell the truth I was a tish bit disappointed at first but after it washed & dried I was totally getting into the ooak patterns and color combo of these goods. I'm aiming towards a brighter style next time I dye a rainbow. 🌈

Sadly the dope table runner has a defect in the fabric an I just don't think it's listable for that. I'll more then likely keep it for an Ostara & Easter table runner! Perks of my job, I get to gift or keep all the messed up stuff.

Ice Dyeing Experiments - Batch #1

Soooooo
we've been super busy these past almost 4 years since we had two lil' boys in a row and never really got into the new fad of "Ice Dyeing" or "Snow Dyeing" in the tie dye world. Finally our kiddos have given us some time to get back into dyeing and we just have to give this Ice Dyeing a try.

I've seen some pretty amazing creations by rad dyers pop up on FB tie dye groups, Instagram and Etsy so I'm pretty damn excited to see what we can do, or at least be able to laugh my ass off over our horrible outcomes. Either way it should be fun.

Jason whipped up this first batch on Sunday 12-2-18 and at first I wasn't too impressed but after the items dried I was totally diggin' them!

He used:

*The tie dye stockings used in this giveaway are two of the first ones created, have some minor sewing flaws to them an are kind of skinny but still functional. You will not be receiving a perfect gift but a pretty damn cool one that can be used as decor if anything. The gifts inside it are just a bonus! I lined them both with a spacey black fabric and doubled up the cuff to ensure durability. Hand sewed a few tiny jingle bells on the cuffs points and put a matching tab on it to hang for the Holidaze! Hoping to get a few more made perfectly and listed in our Etsy shop early December. 

Fun Fact:
These Holiday stocking were upcycled from our 2015 xmas tiedye shirts!

We only wore them once and just for this Family photo.

Tie dyed upcycled doilies are some of my fave small items to craft up. As you can see from my current stock I am very low! Need to get to work before the holidays for these tye dye crochet doilies are super groovy stocking stuffers!

A classic tye dye swirl design was hand tied & dyed fire red & brilliant blue with safe and nontoxic fiber reactive procion dyes. It's hard to keep white areas on tie dyes white due to colors bleeding but luckily this item turned out spectacular! We used an adult V-Neck Gildan brand t-shirt and the back has the same design as the front.

Custom Tie Dye Mandala Tees

Since we've added a new bundle of joy to our lives I haven't been able to sling much dye in the Moon Lab these days. Get plenty of requests and I hate turning them down but my time is occupied with baby Silas now.

Finally gave a custom tie dye order a shot and well, figured out I'm still not ready to get fully back in the lab lol. Motherly sacrifices!

My 7 month old son was teething super bad the whole month of May and it pretty much took me the whole month to finish up on my custom order, doh. I did have to give the two designs a try three times each so it took longer then imagined juggling tie dying and a super crabby teething baby. The last two we tied up and dyed turned out super awesome and those were the ones she picked yeaaa!
